There are no scheduled Personal Protection Classes at this time.

The Personal Protection classes have been a great success in 2010/2011. Unfortunately due to scheduling issues we are no longer offering these classes at our facility. We recommend Noel Coward and his training methods to anyone interested. Noel was our decoy/class trainer and he's available for private or group lessons from time to time. He can be found at Peace River Schutzhund Club in Punta Gorda every Saturday from 10:30 am to whenever. For more information on the Schutzhund Club please visit www.PeaceRiverSchutzhundClub.com.

The personal protection class is designed to increase yours and your canine's ability to perceive a threat and understand how to affectively work through it. We'll begin with focusing on basic controlled aggression and handler training and slowly work into real life scenarios.

All dogs must undergo a short evaluation to determine suitability.

Heighten your awareness and do not become a victim.

Come join this class and have some fun while you and your canine partner gain some skills that can protect you and your family.

What you'll learn:

Proper handling techniques to maintain control in a threatening situation and increase your leadership role.
Increase handler and dog's awareness and confidence.
Negotiate a threat with and without your dog.
Understand controlled aggression.
Controlled aggression by barking on command and quitting on command.
Voice commands.
Polite greeting.
Confidence building exercises.
Timing praise and corrections.
Focus work.
Problem solving.
Foreign language commands (if desired).
