Heinrich's Tribute Page

Heinrich

This page is dedicated to a very special dog.

Heinrich was the dog that got me in this business in the first place. On him I learned so much, and I believe he taught me more than I taught him.

In 1999 I first came to this great country as a camp counselor with the YMCA. Later I got a job as an apprentice to a very talented dog trainer, named Wade Ford, with his Alpha School of Professional Dog Training in New Orleans, LA. Although my English was not so good, no spoken English was needed with the dogs I worked with and rehabilitated.

It was then when I decided that I needed my own dog to train to the highest level to show clients what I could do with their dogs.

I obtained Heinrich from a breeder in Slidell, Louisiana. He was off lead trained by 6 months and performed excellent on hand and voice commands. He proved to be the challenge I was seeking and he was so well worth it.

Back then, when I couldn't explain to clients due to my broken English what the training of their dog would involve, Heinrich's flawless demonstration on and off the lead continued to amaze each and every one of my clients. My client list was growing by the day and by 2002 I had opened my first dog training school called Top Dog Training.

In late 2003 I relocated to Florida where I proceeded immediately with my next bigger and better dream - my second dog training school. Top Dog Training was already taken by 3 other individuals so I chose Trinity Dog Training after the small part of New Port Richey called Trinity I had moved to.

By that time Heinrich had helped so many dogs overcome the obstacles of lack of confidence, fears, dominance and aggression that he had his own fan club, which you will witness as you read further down through this tribute.

He was a star in his own way, had many "girlfriends" who loved him and who he ignored daily. :)

Heinrich had a keen sense for insecure dogs and instinctively showed them the way to perform a task. I merely guided him through it. He was loyal, trustworthy and very, very handsome.

He died in his sleep at only 6 and a half. He left me before I moved to Fort Myers, FL and he never got to see what would have been his third school...He will be forever missed!

The Early Days

Heinrich at 2 weeks

I was part of a litter of 8 puppies. I first met my new mommy when I was only 2 weeks old. As you can see from the picture she couldn't resist those bright blue puppy eyes. I was very confident even back then. I never started any trouble with my brothers and sisters but if they did, I made sure that I finished it! Everyone knew me for that.
Gaby visited me again at 5 weeks old and said I was even cuter, which really made me think that she was set on me. So at 8 weeks old I knew I was right, when she picked me up and carried me home to a life I could have never dreamed of. The rest is history!

My Favorite Toys

Bad Cuz Jolly Ball Planet Dog Tennis Ball
